Chronic pain is a common symptom of multiple sclerosis but can have a significant impact on all aspects of life. Dr John Alchin, Specialist Pain Medicine Physician, will outline various strategies available to minimise the effect that MS pain has. He will be joined by Mr Simon Goss, Senior Clinical Psychologist.

Dr John Alchin, FFPMANZCA retired from clinical practice at the Pain Management Centre at Burwood Hospital, Christchurch, where he had worked as a consultant since 1998. He still teaches in the Dept of Orthopaedic Surgery & Musculoskeletal Medicine at the University of Otago, Christchurch.


Mr Simon Goss is a senior clinical psychologist at Te Whatu Ora, Canterbury, working in both the Pain Management Centre at Burwood Hospital, and in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at Christchurch Hospital
