3. Jubilee Sailing Trust – Opportunity for a life-changing experience!

JST is a globally unique, UN-accredited charity which utilises the adventure of tall ship sailing to unlock human potential and break down barriers between people of different circumstances - especially between people living with disability and the non-disabled. Their vessels, Tenacious and Lord Nelson are the only fully accessible tall ships in the world. Both ships were built from the ground up to accommodate a crew where half can have a disability or impairment of some kind and the other half is made up of people who are non-disabled. The aim of the JST is to encourage those living with disability to challenge themselves while having an adventure that is for people of all abilities, and in doing so build their self-esteem and confidence. This benefits all on board,as the able-bodied experience real inclusion and see beyond the disability to the person, challenging their preconceptions and focusing on ability rather than disability.

To see a video of life on board click here. Further information can be found here and here. Check out their website for more details – www.jst.org.nz

Tenacious will be in New Zealand between May and August this year before heading back to the UK. To check out their voyages go to http://jst.org.uk/. Voyages are selling out fast so book now to secure your place. Contact them at info@jst.org.nz or on +64 (0)9 887 5672 to book or for further enquiries.

4. Entertainment Book

Just a reminder, we are selling the very popular Entertainment Book again this year. To purchase your book and support MS Auckland please click here: www.entbook.co.nz/999g62.

5. Cheryl Hide – MS doesn’t stop her from running marathons!

Cheryl finishes her adventure in Auckland and we will be looking at meeting with her on Tuesday the 13th of June over lunch. If you would like to join us please let us know and we will keep you informed with plans. Just e-mail us at info@msakl.org.nz.

6. Joining the MS community

Thank you to everyone that has joined and that continues to be a part of the MS Community! We are so grateful for your support.

If you haven’t become a part of us yet, we hope you will consider it, even if you do not currently require the services of MS Auckland or even if you don’t personally have MS. By joining the community you help us in continuing to fund our services as well as helping us with our advocacy work for improving access to treatment and services for people with MS. It is the kindness and generosity of people like you over the past 50+ years that has enabled MS Auckland to continue to serve the MS community.

To join us please go to our website or call the office on 09 845 5921.

I love hearing from our community. Please feel free to drop me an e-mail or to give me a call anytime.

Have a lovely month! Until next time,

Wishing you all the best,

Ingrid Minett
