e-newsletter June 2019

e-newsletter June 2019

“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members” Coretta Scott King

Our community is great! The generosity and kindness of the community were seen once again at our annual fundraiser Life Buoy for MS. From that event we will have just over $65,000 to put towards services for people affected by MS. We are so very grateful to you all.

I’ve had a number of people asking me about Research Day this year and when it will be held. In the past Research Day was always organised by us, but this year the MS Research Trust will be organising the speakers. They are hoping to tap into some good international speakers who will be attending a conference in Australia at the end of October and bring them to New Zealand for a Research Day in early November. I will keep you posted and as soon as we have confirmation I will be sending out an announcement and an invite.

In the meantime, we are continuing to plan other activities and events. In this newsletter, you can read about one of our members who would like to put together an Outdoors Walking Club. I’m always interested to hear of ideas or suggestions for activities, workshops or fundraisers. If you have any ideas you would like to put forward please either talk to your Field Worker or e-mail me directly at Ingrid@msakl.org.nz.
