How You Can Help > Donate

MS Auckland Region relies on the support of our generous donors. A donation to the MS Society really will make a huge difference to the life of someone with MS.

For example a donation of:

$25 buys a book on coping with MS for a newly diagnosed member

$50 covers the cost of an MS Field Worker visiting one client in the Auckland region

$100 funds one MS hydrotherapy class

$200 enables one MS Field Worker to visit and support several clients in one day

You can choose to make a single donation, donate via Payroll Giving, set up a regular donation to our Society, or make the ultimate donation to our members by leaving MS Auckland Region a gift in your will.

Whichever way you choose to support us, your contribution and every dollar donated will make a huge difference to people with MS.

Payroll Giving

New legislation introduced at the beginning of the year, now means that you can donate to MS Auckland Region straight from your pay packet and benefit from the tax credit at the same time.

Payroll Giving now makes it easier for you to support MS Auckland Region, having a regular donation, (frequency and amount decided by you) deducted from your pay.

    Information and Benefits for Employees

  • The donation is taken out of your pay before tax.

  • You receive 33.3% tax credit on the value of your donation straight away in your pay packet (it is credited on to the PAYE that you pay)  Give $30 and you get $10 back, what could be better!

  • You do not need to keep receipts and file a separate Tax Credit Claim Form (IR 526) at the end of the year to claim back your 33.3% tax credit for donations made.

  • Your employer is responsible for sending the donation to the chosen organisation – no need for you to send a cheque, organise a credit card donation etc.  Just set up the process then it all takes care of itself.

  • Its flexible - you can give whatever amount you decide, but it’s easy for you to make small payments more regularly and because it is taken from source you are less likely to notice it.

  • Regular payments to MS Auckland Region are a fantastic way to show your ongoing support.  It enables us to know that there is a regular source of income and makes future planning and budgeting more accurate.

    Information and Benefits for Employers

  • It is up to you as an employer how the payroll giving scheme will work in your workplace.  You can allow employees to chose their own charities or you can nominate a number of options.

  •  Introducing a Payroll Scheme is a great way to boost team morale and engage with your local community.

  • It is a great way to help build your organisations profile. MS Auckland Region will happily acknowledge any organisations that choose to nominate the Society as one of their “Chosen payroll giving charities”.

  • It is a low cost and simple process and the Inland Revenue’s ir-File Service has been updated to include payroll giving and tax credits for payroll giving donations.

  • Your Payroll Giving can extend further by getting involved with fundraising and volunteering for MS Auckland Region.
