About MS Auckland Region

Auckland Region staff and supportThe Multiple Sclerosis Society of Auckland Region is a not-for-profit organisation supporting people with MS in the Auckland Region.

MS Auckland Region is run by a committee that is elected from, and by, members of the MS Society. Every member has a right to vote in the committee elections and at the MS Society's Annual General Meeting.

In 2007 the MS Societies of Auckland and the North Shore amalgamated to serve the whole Auckland area as MS Auckland Region. We are one of eighteen regional support groups that are members of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of New Zealand.

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Auckland and the North Shore Incorporated was registered as a charitable entity under the Charities Act 2005 on 16 August 2007. Registration number CC10863.

What we do

Our mission is to see around MS, people thriving.

We cover the Greater Auckland Region from Rodney District in the North to Counties/Manukau in the South.

MS Auckland Region provides free services to all people who are affected by MS. Whether you have lived with MS for several years, have been recently diagnosed with this condition, or you are a family member, friend, caregiver or co-worker of someone who has MS, we are able to help you.

Across two locations in North Shore and Morningside, we offer information and education about MS and have a wide range of support services designed to encourage and assist people with MS and their families to enjoy positive, active and healthy lives to their full potential.

Who We Are

Our MS Field Worker Service is staffed by qualified people with a range of professional backgrounds and experience. Use the Map to find a Field Worker for your area or read our profiles.

We have a dedicated team of General staff who are committed to ensuring that our work in the community reaches its full potential. We organise support groups, exercise classes, social events and fun experiences for people with MS, and our fundraising programme is spread throughout the year.

The MS Auckland Region Committee is made up of twelve members who are elected by our membership at the Annual General Meeting. The Committee represents the interests of our members to direct the strategies and policies of the Society in a responsible and accountable way.

The role of the MS Auckland Region Patron is to represent and promote the values and vision of the Society within the community.
