Nelson Allen
Committee Member
Most of my working life I
have spent in management in the Fire Insurance industry. I retrained in my mid
forties to teach English Literature, Drama and History.
I had very active
involvement in sport, until my MS Diagnosis in 1982. I have won four sporting
cups along with one for Bridge.
I have had a long
involvement with Drama, acting on stage, screen and in television. I have
written and produce plays in South Korea, where my students were placed first,
third and fifth in citywide competition.
I was born in Masterton, but
spent most of my life in Wellington. I have also lived in Levin, Whangarei and
Christchurch prior to relocating to Auckland in 1996. I am married to Lita. We
live in Onehunga. I have three adult children and two grand children.
My main interests now are my
near lifelong passions for reading, music and films.
I am looking forward to
serving the societies members as a committee member.
